Fairy’s Eye — Privacy Policy
Fairy’s Eye (the "App") is a paid app for Android and iOS, provided by Fairy Solutions ("we", "us", "our") and intended for use as is. We designed Fairy’s Eye to do one thing — show you the camera with adjustable delays, and let you save what you just saw — without watching you back.
The short version: everything happens on your device. We never upload your camera or microphone stream, and we don't see or store anything you record. When you save a clip, it goes to your own device's photo gallery — and only when you ask for it.
1. Who we are
Fairy Solutions is the data controller for any personal data that Fairy’s Eye might process. You can reach us at info@fairysolutions.se. We are based in Sweden, so this policy follows the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
2. What we don't collect
Fairy’s Eye does not collect, store, or transmit:
- Your name, email, phone number, or postal address.
- Your location.
- Any other photos, videos or files from your device (see §6).
- Any analytics, usage data, advertising IDs, or device identifiers.
- Any of the camera or microphone data the App processes — we never see it, and it never leaves your device unless you save a clip (see §5).
Fairy’s Eye does not contain ads. It does not contain in-app purchases. It does not require an account. It does not connect to the internet for any of its core features.
3. The camera permission
Fairy’s Eye needs access to your device camera to do its job. When you open the App, your device asks you for camera permission and you can accept or decline.
- The live camera feed is shown directly on screen.
- Recent frames are kept in an in-memory buffer (RAM only) so we can replay them at the delay you choose. The buffer is a few minutes long at most and is wiped when you close the App.
- The buffered frames are never written to disk by themselves and never sent over the network. They are only persisted if you tap Save — see §5.
You can revoke Fairy’s Eye’s access to the camera, microphone or photos at any time: on Android in Settings → Apps → Fairy’s Eye → Permissions, and on iPhone or iPad in Settings → Fairy’s Eye (or Settings → Privacy & Security). Without the camera, the App simply stops displaying camera frames.
4. The microphone permission
Fairy’s Eye also asks for microphone access, so that any clip you save has the matching audio. Your device will ask the first time, and you can accept or decline.
- Microphone audio is captured into an in-memory ring buffer that mirrors the video buffer.
- Live microphone audio is never played back through the speaker. This is deliberate — it avoids a microphone / speaker feedback loop. Recorded sound is only played when you pause and review what was just recorded, or when you watch a video you have opened in the App.
- If you decline the microphone permission, Fairy’s Eye still works fine; saved videos will simply have no sound.
- The audio buffer is wiped when you close the App, and is only persisted if you tap Save.
You can revoke the microphone permission at any time, in the same place as the camera permission (see §3).
5. Saved content
When you tap Save, Fairy’s Eye writes the currently buffered window — the video, and the matching microphone audio if you allowed it — as a standard MP4 video file into your device's photo gallery. You can also save a single still picture (JPEG) of one pane.
- Both are stored only on your device, where you can view, share or delete them like any other photo or video.
- Fairy’s Eye only reads a saved video back if you open it inside the App (see §6). It never uploads or shares it.
- Fairy Solutions never receives a copy.
6. Photo library
Fairy’s Eye asks for permission to add videos and pictures to your photo library so it can save what you choose to keep.
On iPhone and iPad it also asks for permission to read your photo library. This is used only to find the videos Fairy’s Eye has saved itself, so you can open them again inside the App. Fairy’s Eye does not look at, copy or upload any other photos or videos, and nothing it reads leaves your device. If you decline, everything else in the App keeps working; you just can’t open saved films inside the App.
7. Data sharing
We do not share, sell, or transfer any data, because we do not collect any data to begin with. There are no third-party SDKs, advertising networks, or analytics providers integrated into Fairy’s Eye.
8. Purchases
Fairy’s Eye is a paid app. The purchase is made and processed entirely by Apple's App Store or Google Play, under their own privacy policies. We never receive your name, payment details or any other information about who bought the app — only anonymous, aggregated sales figures from the store. The App itself contains no in-app purchases, subscriptions or ads, and once installed it needs no network connection to work.
9. Children's privacy
Fairy’s Eye is suitable for general audiences. Because the App does not collect personal information from anyone, it does not knowingly collect personal information from children either.
10. Your rights under GDPR
Even though we do not hold any personal data about you, you still have rights under the GDPR — including the right to ask us what we process, to request deletion, and to lodge a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY) at imy.se.
11. Security
Camera frames and microphone audio live only in your device's memory while the App is running. Closing the App clears them. Videos and pictures you explicitly save are stored in your own device's photo gallery and are governed by your device's normal protections. No method is 100 % secure, but the simplest way to protect your data is to never collect it ourselves — and that's the path we've chosen.
12. Changes to this policy
If we ever change Fairy’s Eye in a way that affects privacy — for example, by adding cloud features — we will update this policy and the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be announced on this site before they take effect.
